Position: Direct Support Professional
At St. David's Center, our mission is to build relationships that nurture the development of every child and family. Based in the Twin Cities West Metro, we serve more than 2,500 children, adults and families each year. Currently, we are looking for Direct Support Professionals to work with clients in the metro area. This position offers:
- Experience working in the human services field
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate students or those with other jobs
- Meaningful work as you help make a difference in clients' and families' lives
St. David's Center is searching for part-time Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home care and support to children, youth, and adults with special needs. These special needs include developmental disabilities, chronic health disabilities, or mental health diagnoses. Build lasting, rewarding relationships as you help cultivate a higher level of independence for individuals with disabilities! Enjoy activities together and assist with all aspects of daily living. Our clients are located throughout Hennepin County and the surrounding area. Part time afternoon, evening and weekend hours are available.
We currently have multiple openings throughout the Twin Cities Metro area, including these specific openings:
- Mpls., 12 year old boy with PDD, ADHD, Generalized Anxiety and Mood Disorder. THis client is working on social skills, boundaries, emotional reactivity, hyperactivity and sensory problems.
- 11 year old in Hamel with pediatric bipolar. Excellent experience for students studying child psychology or wanting more experience with children's mental health. Staff will provide family a break and do constructive activities in the community.
- Two brothers (14 and 17) in Minnetonka with PDD-NOS, non-verbal, Autism and developmental disability. Looking for an energetic and enthusiastic staff to work with both brothers.
- 3 year old girl with physical and developmental delays and social anxiety. Enjoys community activities to parks and playgrounds.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with special needs.
- Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license.
- Must pass background check.
- Must be able to commit to at least 6 months.
