Employment Opportunities
Job Summary
As a Respite Aide 1:1 you will:
- Assist the Classroom Teacher in planning and implementing a meaningful and effective daily program for individual children.
- Provide one to one adult support in a safe learning environment to children who are experiencing medical, physical, behavioral or emotional special needs.
- Implement Individual Program Plan with assigned children.
- Promote emotional growth in the child, assist the child in integrating within the classroom and follow through on therapy goals.
- Work to decrease each child's dependency on one on one support over time. Function as a part of the classroom team.
Actively seek to understand the children's needs and insure the safety and social and emotional growth of all children in the room. Inform other staff, substitutes and/or volunteers of any prescribed changes or additions to the program of the individual assigned child. Actively interact with all children in the room, and especially with the one-on-one assigned child. Take guidance and direction from the Classroom Teacher, RCC Associate and RCC Coordinator.
This position is 4-16 hours per week and is a non-exempt positio.
