A beautiful day transitioned into a gorgeous evening at our 2012 Make Them Shine Gala on Saturday, March 10.
Nearly 500 guests, including 20 new sponsors, filled the warmly-lit and elegantly-draped International Market Square in support of St. David's Center.
Governor Mark Dayton formally welcomed guests who later learned more about the importance of early intervention from Dr. Megan Gunnar and a video on our Autism Day Treatment program.
Some other highlights include:
- New this year: Our "Pack the Purse," where guests brought cash or items to pack the Coach bag, which was later auctioned off in our live auction, raised $3,300.
- Madonna concert tickets in our silent auction raised $2,550.
- Our Gala classroom baskets exceeded their value, raising $5,390.
Photos from the event can be found on our Facebook page.

Light the Way
Thank you to the Myvatt family for sharing their story as part of the Light the Way program. Omar's experience in the Autism Day Treatment program demonstrates the importance of intervening early in a child's life to make a difference in his or her future.
It makes my life so easy. It's like day and night with how it used to be and how it is now. I'm happy to have everything in one spot.
- Omar's mom, Naima
By sharing their story, we raised $48,700 to support early intervention treatment and services both onsite and in the community. It's not too late to give; if you haven't already, please consider making a donation and lighting the way for successful child development.
