Kelly always wanted the best for her sons, so when her family was impacted by domestic violence, she came to Family Place to get the support they needed.
When they first entered Family Place at St. David’s Center, Kelly’s sons were shy and apprehensive due to the emotional experiences of their past. Through two years of therapeutic preschool, home-visits and family counseling, Kelly saw her children begin to make friends and open up to her. “Not only did the Family Place staff help my sons, they helped me become a better mother.”
Looking to the future, Kelly credits Family Place for preparing her children for kindergarten.

Child & Family Intervention Services
Giving families the right support early in a child's life makes a difference.
Our Child & Family Intervention Services cover a range of needs that parents, families and care providers experience while raising and supporting young children. With a special focus on school-readiness, our services help children develop social and emotional skills while enhancing the parents' and/or caregivers' ability to support their success.
For families:
- Preschool Day Treatment, A Family Place program, is a therapeutic classroom for children struggling with emotional and behavioral issues and also provides education, therapeutic support and resources for their families.
For new parents:
- Our Infant-Parent Development Program helps first-time parents who are facing multiple obstacles to provide a safe and healthy family environment.
For young children:
- Our Early Childhood Mental Health Outreach improves school-readiness in young children with social, emotional and/or behavioral needs by partnering with parents, caregivers and teachers.
