Teen Pregnancy Support Program
Teen Pregnancy Support
Program (TPSP) is a program for teens (19 years
of age and younger) that are
experiencing their first pregnancy. This program is a collaboration
between the Faith Communities, community agencies
and professionals. We accept referrals from area schools, medical clinics, the faith communities and other community partners.
The Goals of the Program
are:
- No repeat pregnancies
- Remaining in high school
or a GED program or becoming gainfully employed
- Obtaining education around
labor and delivery
- Obtain information on
health and nutrition for mother and child
- Receive medical attention
throughout pregnancy as well child check-ups
after birth
- Involve father’s of the
baby as well as the grandparents – if applicable
- Connection to Community
Resources
TPSP can provide:
- Home visiting
- Medical curriculum around
labor and delivery
- Information on the
resources that are in the community that apply
directly to their individual needs
Enrollment Criteria:
- Age: pregnant teens 19 and
younger
- Teen in their second
trimester of pregnancy
- Resident of the NW suburbs
Upon the birth of the
baby, we will:
- Make a referral to another agency that
can continue home visits
- Connect the Teen to a program that
provides a home visiting nurse e.g. MVNA, HUG
- Connect the Teen with an agency that
will do home visiting and continue to assist the
Teen with resources and referrals as needed
