Autism Day Treatment Program
Now accepting new applicants! Contact CORE at 952.548.8700 for more information.
The Autism Day Treatment (ADT) program at St. David's Center is for children ages 2-6 years, who have a medical diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Our ADT program is the only day treatment program in the West metro that uses a mental health approach and leverages an interdisciplinary team of child therapists including a:
- Licensed psychologist/mental health professional
- Mental health practitioner
- Music therapist
- Occupational therapist
- Speech/language therapist
This intensive program takes an integrated approach to treating challenges associated with ASD – including difficulties with social interaction, communication, sensory processing and self-regulation - and creates a tailored plan to meet each child's individual needs.
When appropriate, our program provides an opportunity for children on the autism spectrum to transition to a supportive and inclusive preschool classroom in the same building – resulting in improved functioning inside and outside of the classroom.
We recognize that the entire family is affected by autism; therefore, we value communication and collaboration with parents and caregivers of every child in the program. Support groups and workshops also are available.
- Many major insurances, Medical Assistance/TEFRA, PMAPs and private pay .
- Medica customers may qualify for our autism support services.
Autism Day Treatment Family Support Groups
St. David's Center hosts ongoing Family Support Groups for current and past Autism Day Treatment families. More info.
Autism Day Treatment Information Session
For parents that have a child on the autism spectrum and are interested in learning more about the ADT program, this one and a half-hour meeting is presented by ADT program staff and discusses: the ADT philosophy and treatment approaches, the multi-disciplinary team, the intake process, family support services and funding. Parents have the opportunity to ask questions specific to their child as well as tour the treatment spaces. It is highly recommended that all families on the ADT waitlist or those considering the program attend an information session.
Next session: Monday, March 10, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Minnetonka campus.
