Volunteering at St. David's

St. David's Volunteer Services strives to provide volunteers unique and rewarding opportunities in a variety of programs and locations. We are committed to providing volunteers with on-going support, training and flexibility. At St. David's, it is important that all volunteers feel successful and enjoy the vital contributions that they make in the lives of children and families.

Volunteer Spotlight - Alpine Capital, LLC

Alpine Capital, LLC is a construction loan company in Wayzata and New Brighton. Owners Dave and Molly Swenson embrace community involvement like no other.

Employees from Alpine Capital have volunteered at St. David’s six times in the last year, doing everything from washing toys and mulching the playground at our Crystal preschool site, to removing buckthorn from our School Forest in Minnetonka. They also chaperoned two field trips for our summer Adventure Program.

Last winter, Alpine Capital employees used the money they would have spent on their company holiday party to host a bowling party for the 40 children in St. David’s afterschool Adventure Program. Alpine Capital provided busing, bowling, shoe rental, refreshments, a holiday cake, and treat bags for everyone.

In addition to their work with St. David’s, Alpine employees volunteer at Second Harvest every Tuesday and Thursday during work hours. They also volunteer with other organizations throughout the year.
